Loan Le is an assistant editor at Atria Books. She has worked on a variety of genres including literary fiction, literature in translation, psychological thriller, science fiction, pop culture, digital influencers, and more. She edits Renee Carlino, K.A. Tucker, Gwen Florio, and Dylan Marron.
Loan is looking for quietly sharp literary fiction (Anne Enright, Jennifer Egan, Julian Barnes), historical fiction (The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield), psychological thrillers (I’m Thinking of Ending Things by Iain Reid), and food-for-thought nonfiction. Loan is drawn to stories that have misfit characters, dark and psychological atmospheres, and a blend of reality and the unreal (Himself by Jess Kidd, The Demonologist by Andrew Pyper, The Book of Speculation by Erika Swyler). She does not like novels featuring trouble-in-paradise marriages; aimless millennials (she gets enough of that in real life); unnecessary gore; callous characters with no redeeming quality; and probably something else, but she forgets.
Loan is also the author of a forthcoming YA rom-com, which will be published by Simon Pulse in Fall 2020. She has her MFA degree in fiction writing from Fairfield University, where she also earned her bachelor’s in journalism.
